My mixing kit just arrived today and I went ahead and mixed some up following the table that came with the kit.  I wanted to try PEG because I heard that the vapor is incredible.  Turns out, it's just okay.  From what I've read, it doesn't work so well on the XL Clearomizers, which is what I have.  However, when the boosters get restocked, I'm planning on picking one up and trying out the PEG with XL Dual Coil Cartos.

Has anyone else had great vapor using PEG?  I have some premixed juice leftover that I can switch to.  I just don't want to waste the mixing liquids on the Clearos if I know that it works better with the booster/carto combination.

Also, I've been avoiding VG for awhile because it messed up some of my old atomizers, but that was way back when I was still buying from Johnson Creek.  Has anyone had any atty problems mixing in VG with their mix?

I'm one of those "too much is never enough" type people when it comes to vaping, so if anyone has any tips on how to get a billowing plume of vapor that you can't even remotely see through, it would be much appreciated.  I'm happy that I got a usable, palatable vape on my first try mixing, but I'd really like to know what other people have had success doing.

None of the base liquids, PG, VG or PEG have an adverse effect on atomisers.....the closest they come is that PEG has a higher vapourising point than the others and so is the first to drop out when an atty gets tired. The flavourings that are used, on the other hand, can have a drastic effect on the coils if they are full of non-volatiles like colourings, or oils, or sugars. The non-volatiles will build up on the coil and can burn on or even clinker up the coil.
Problems with VG? None, and I use mostly all VG mixes (Except for the PG in the flavouring concentrates). I also use PEG mixes, but also mainly use LR atties and cartos so have no problems with performance dropping.

Hi, Crowedude654  Smiley
It's VG which will give you the plumes of vapour, and the best cartomiser imho for vapour, TH and satisfaction is the mega dual coil cartomiser. It's like a fog machine with a high VG mix.
You need to take care on the first fill as they take about 3ml of fluid and it takes a while to soak in properly, so an hour's rest before vaping is advisable... after the first fill you just top off whenever needed, no more waiting.
Do make sure that it's a juice you know you like, or it could be 3ml wasted.
They really are monster vapes and have a strong following here.

Thanks for the insight guys.  I just ordered some platinum ice and dilutent, both aqueous glycerin.  Think I'll try 100% VG first, then cut it down with PEG until I find a good medium that works with the clearomizers pretty well. Can anyone suggest a good ratio?

As for the Mega carts...do they perform better than the XL carts or is it just a larger capacity?  I like the idea of still being able to use a cone to cover the cart, and presently the Megas are out of stock.  If they're back in stock at the same time the boosters are, I'll try them.  If not, I'll start with the XLs.

The mega D/Cs perform better than anything else for vapour production imho, especially with a mix high in VG, but I would suggest you put a little more PG in your mix than just the flavouring (which is in a PG base) unless you're happy with virtually no throat hit and a sweetish taste to everything. I like sweet, but it doesn't sit well with all flavours.
Whilst my usual mix is very high in VG and I have great plumes of vapour, without a little TH it doesn't hit the spot for me. Of course, it may suit you fine as it's entirely subjective.
I've found that a cover cone will sit over an  xl carto and I use a drip tip with mine.
As for the mix ratio, maybe you could start with 50/50 PG/AG in a tank or small mixing bottle and adjust to your preference from there?  Smiley

Well I got impatient when I found out I could buy pure glycerin at the pharmacy, so I went out and got some of that and distilled water and mixed it with some strawberry flavor.  Now I have a pretty good baseline idea of how my equipment should perform with 100% AG, 0mg, perfectly clear liquid.  Quite right about no throat hit, but for now, vapor is my top priority.

Pufferfish, you said 50/50 PG/AG to start.....any experience with PEG?  Since I don't have any AG nic base yet,  I was thinking of mixing the AG with the PEG nic base to somewhere between 18 and 24mg, and see if that ratio works out.  I just don't like wasting juice, and I think I've tried to tweak my previous PEG blend too much and now I don't even want to vape it.  Hopefully that clearo isn't tainted forever with that taste.

Also, does anyone happen to know the ratio of water to VG in the AG solution?  I used 80% VG and 20% water, which was just enough to get the viscosity down to where I could use the syringe.  Just wondering if there was a standard/universally accepted ratio out there.

I believe the AG is 15% A, 85% G, but I prefer a 20:80 mix myself, and I use overproof vodka instead of water, to give a bit of throat hit as most of my mixes are all VG based.

You're fine on your VG/water ratio at 80/20, Crowedude654 , anywhere between that and 85/15 seems to be the best dilution for vaping and mixing.
Did you know you could use good quality vodka instead of distilled or de-ionised water?
A number of folks do that because it adds a little throat hit, whereas water doesn't.
I'm sorry,  I can't help you with the PEG question, I've never used it, but someone will be along shortly....

80 VG to 20 water is an OK Ratio for AG. Its what I use (although I use vodka instead of water as it helps with throat hit)
Some use a 85/15 ratio, or even totally undiluted if your only adding a small amount to the overall mix  Wink

I think if you add a couple of drops of VG it will produce more vapor. Darrell
