here's a tale of woe that I hope will have a happy ending, but only time will tell:
I decided to take my dog out for a walk tonight, despite the absolutely lousy weather (she's a welsh collie so needs loads of exercise). I got wrapped up in about 4 layers, and put my Screwdriver round my neck in the middle of two layers in case I fancied a vape whilst out.
The weather was that cold and wet that I didn't get chance to vape, but when I got home and took my coat off I noticed to my horror that the button had dropped off my Screwdriver  Shocked
I couldn't find it anywhere in my layers of clothing and tried retracing my steps but we live in the middle of the countryside and trying to find a small black button on a wet black road with no streetlighting was an exercise in futility (not to mention I didn't really fancy another 2 mile hike in the freezing cold!)
So, I now have a screwdriver missing a button and essentially useless (I may also have fried an atomiser when the switch fell on with the loss of the end button) Ironically, I do still have the spring so I will try and jury rig a button now and hopefully those lovely TW people have some spare buttons, otherwise I've basically thrown away a hundred quid Sad
I can only think that the movement of the screwdriver whilst trapped between layers of clothing has caused the button to wear loose. All I can say is if you have an SD MKII, don't make the same mistake I did and be sure to check the button whenever you change the battery!

I'm now going to hide in a corner and cry  Cry

In case anyone is interested, here's a piccy of the dog who needed to go out!

I'm sure you've nothing to worry about.  Did you give TW a call?  That dog looks so sorry in that pic, make sure she knows its not her fault! lol

I'm in the UK, so I'll have to call them in the morning (I sent them an e-mail). The picture's a couple of days old (she just looks wet and cold at the moment) - she always looks like that when I take a picture of her!

I think it was separate, Bluemagnum but couldn't tell you for sure as it came whilst I was at work and my wife opened it up to put the battery on charge

If TW doesn't have a replacement you could check your local electronics store.  You can usually find different kinds of buttons. Just make sure you can thread it on the SD.

They fit in a shaving adapter if you don't have an adapter with it. Don't forget to make sure the button's screwed in tightly!

Dam that’s bad luck Phil  Sad

I'm Sure they bound to have spares as the MK11 is mass produced. Mine came loose within a few hours of use from new. I know it’s recommended to check it and do it up by sticking your finger down the battery tube but I did mine up by holding the black button tight and inserting a nice big flat head screwdriver down there and pinched it up nice and tight. You can’t really over tighten it this way as the black cap slips round in your fingers before you could ever over tighten it.

Over the last 2 weeks I have checked but it’s been OK so hopefully that’s all it needed but if it comes loose again I will put a drop of semi permanent thread locking compound on it and that will hold the bugger Wink Smiley

Hope you get it sorted soon as i know i would miss mine a lot now.

All the best
Blue

Hi Phil,
I, too, had my button fall off. Luckily, I was in the car and was able to gather up all the parts. Your puppy looks so sad. He must feel your sadness Cry. I feel sure that TW will have spares Cheesy. Hope your situation gets fixed very fast Wink

The stopper from the inside of a fresh TW bottle should have a hole the right diameter for the stick-post thing in the SD, could be useful as an interim

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and sympathy! I've jury rigged a button from the end cap of a Titan cartridge so I'm back on the screwdriver Smiley
Scott - I did see your review and have been checking the button but it's always been tight so I didn't check it for a couple of days...
If and when I get it fixed, i'm tempted to put some threadlock on the threads to stop this happening again...

Fortunately, it looks like this story will have a happy ending and I will have a new button in the morning, thanks to the wonderful customer service at Totally Wicked Smiley
I don't think it's something they generally keep in stock (maybe they should?) and I got lucky. Hopefully my experience will ensure everyone else checks their buttons and keeps them tight (I know I will from now on!)
thanks again to TW: stellar customer service as always!
