Is there any reason that this is not sealed from the atty connector?

Yeah, I noticed some liquid near the spring in the battery compartment.  I then took off the atty and blew through the connector, and saw more liquid run down the spring.

it wont do any harm if a small amount works its way past the connection insulating grommet.. just give it a clean every so often... its not that common for it getting in the battery compartment and is connected to perhaps putting to much in.. but it can happen.. if it does just wipe the spring area clean.. it does act as an insulator and wont help electrical conductivity.. apart from that it wont do any harm..
