Alright....so I got my SD maybe...two weeks ago? It started out working fine (knew that the button cap was, in fact, the cap and not the button lolz) then I go to refill a cart and everything goes South.

The atty's not heating up at all.

I creep around the forums and find out that you need to prime the atty without flooding.

After a few tries, get that done. It works for a little bit, then I try a couple hours later....nothing.

Switch out attys, blow out the fluid, prime (like two drops, maybe three)....nothing.

Go to the charger to get the freshly charged battery, put it in....nothing.

I cleaned off the screw contacts, button, atty contact...everything.

The only thing I was thinking was this: my SD didn't come with a button spring on the bottom, like at all. So I took apart my son's Nerf Gun (Maverick Pistol haha) because I had modded it before and the springs looked the same. So I used it in place. Could that be shorting the whole thing out, maybe?

So....what's up? haha I'm not mad about this at all, the SD was amazing when it was working.  I just want it to work again.

It ought to be still working some, but you do need to consider the atomizer a disposable component - I replace mine every 2 weeks or so, when the vapour starts dropping off to unacceptable levels. Those who vape less than I do may get longer out of them (and those who will tolerate diminishing vapour likewise,) and some folks resort to coke baths/peroxide/assorted patent remedy cleaning routines that they swear rejuvenates their atties. But I find it easier to just put in a new one
Alas, the everlasting atomizer has yet to be invented  Sad So always keep a few spares. I'm guessing that's where the problem lies (though checking all the connections are clean is also important.)

Welcome to the forum Elaborate Johnny, I love my SDs and never had any problems that a good cleaning did not solve. Really the SD is a batt holder and as long as the current can flow to the atty all should be well. It does sound like the whole prob could be the atty if its the original atty that has been running fine for 2 weeks and now trailing off. I would start by replacing the atty  Wink

Thanks for the replies, all!

The spring is the one that goes between the button and the bottom of the SD to make it pop back out.

I didn't really have time to clean it one last time before trying to order another atty. So I'll do that tomorrow.

Would I really have gone through both of them this soon, though?

I'll update after I get back from work tomorrow and try everything one more time through.

I've had my SD for 2 weeks now and still working on the first atty. Some folks say you should alternate, but I never saw the need for this. When the one burns out, I'll switch to the spare and order a few more. I use mine about once an hour to 2 hours and my attys last a decent amount of time.
