Hi there, been a while since I posted anything in this forum, but thought a couple of you might find this useful
If the standard pipe carto appears dead, it might not be as bad as it seems. I threw a few away before getting annoyed and looked harder at the issue, especially when a new one looked DOA.
In the screw end of the carto the centre point can become depressed, not allowing it to make a full connection. By carefully inserting a bent paper clip into the hole and pulling GENTLY. you can pull this centre so it sits a little prouder and once again make a good connection. Since then I have only had to dump 2 due to weak coils (overuse)
You can also use a 510 CE2 Clearo, but it will need a little modding - to start the diameter at the screw end is a little wide, due to the way this end bulges the tube a little, I carefully put mine in a drill chuck and sanded it down a gnats doodah (technical measurement) until it fitted. Then I used some bungs from another e-cig cartridge (an evo) drilled a hole through it and cut them down to size so that when inserted they made the carto the same length as the e-pipe one. Its a bit of a cowboy job, but it works.
HOWEVER, I will say that even the low resistance CE2 does not produce as good a vapour as the standard ones. So I wouldn't use them as standard (but at least you can see how much liquid you have) Handy in an emergency though
Would still love to see a clearo or similar carto available for pipe, or an adaptor to allow others to be used - I LOVE my e-pipe (especially in the evening) but do find blind carts a bit hit and miss after tanks and clearos
Oh another thing I did was file a groove either side of my screw cap - it isn't as pretty, but it makes screwing/unscrewing it a lot easier
