Received my new pipe today at 9.30 am. As normal a very quick delivery time from TW and a very nice looking pipe kit. I already had some fully charged  ICR 18350 batteries so i was able to start vaping straight away, while the two new ones that came with the kit went on charge.
The pipe is the same size as the DSE 601 and at a first glance looks the same. I find it a bit heavy to hold between the teeth for long periods, even thou i have been smoking some quite large pipe's for many years.
The big difference with the TECC pipe is that it takes Cartomizers, so these will not burn out the atty like the old 601....Great
First thing i did was to get a black marker pen and cover the red LED. Reason i smoke mine while driving at night and hate the red glow reflecting in the screen.

The drag is easy but not too airy and as normal with most new items the vapor and flavor is pretty good. T/H i won't comment on as i use Diablo Loco and my mix is STRONG, breath taking and eye watering. I think i just cleared out TW from the rest of their stock at a bargain price....Thanks TW, this should last me a looong time.

Now been vaping this pipe since i got it at 9.30 am. Had to refill two cartomizers and change the first battery after 4 hours. New battery is still going good and coming up to 5 hours.

What i notice is and i hope it's not a fault...Is the pipe continues to fire until the LED stops flashing, some 2/3 seconds after taking a drag, so will keep an eye on this as it might just be a stiff auto switch from new. Fingers crossed.

All in all, this is a nice piece of kit and with using my Xmas card code number 20% off, it's great value.

I ordered one also but haven't got it yet, I still have about a dozen pipes sitting in a drawer. Wonder if I can sell them on ebay.  Undecided

The new TECC Pipe looks absolutely amazing and I've decided to add one to my (ever growing) collection of devices Smiley
I paid extra for express shipping so hopefully it will be with me tomorrow - I can't wait!

Lol Phil, so far I've managed to convince myself I don't need one.........SO far!
purosbran_, I don't know what sort of connection there is on the pipe, but they don't look like any 'standard' carto I've seen so far.

So apart from the aesthetic, what's the difference between the pipe and a tornado? Any difference in vaping experience? Flavour? Throat hit?

Does the pipe use a standard 510 carto?
It's a 510 fitting with a 2.6 ohm resistance, but an unusual length (at least it's not the same length as any of my other myriad of cartomisers), and you need to use the right cartomiser or else the mouthpiece won't fit properly

I got my pipe today and am still waiting for the batteries to charge, but even before I've used it I'm very, very impressed. The build quality is fantastic and it feels just like a pipe (yes, I'm sat with it in my mouth with no battery in Cheesy)

Lordy - I guess the main difference will be aesthetic, but that's underselling how good the pipe feels

Once I can actually vape this thing, I'll update with throat hit, flavour, etc

Edit
Got the batteries charged, and tried it out. The vapour production, flavour and throat hit is great and it's incredibly relaxing to sit there and vape away on it. Unfortunately, there is a fault with mine and the LED doesn't light up at all (although it still works). I'm not really bothered by the LED but for £70 before discounts, it should work properly so I'll contact CS on monday to arrange a replacement. Shame, really because I don't want to put it down!

I got my pipe swapped over due to the led issue and it is now working beautifully. It's a brilliant device and a great way to get big battery performance in something that doesn't look too "strange" Smiley

Previous picture aside though.. In all seriousness.. I REALLY want one of these. There is just something about pipes that had always fascinated me. Probably because my dad always had one on the go when i was a kid, a nostalgia thing perhaps? who knows.. Undecided  Grin Anyway, Ive put this on my list as a potential purchase if and when the next Yoyo hits. Ive got most of the other PV's from the last couple of years, so I will add this to the collection.. oh how the wife will be pleased!  Roll Eyes I hope this thread continues to stay active as i would be interested to see how you all get on with them long term and see what their reliability is like.
Cheers

There is definitely something very relaxing about a pipe (I used to smoke one occasionally), and the TECC pipe is incredibly close to a real pipe smoking experience: It looks like a pipe, it feels like a pipe and it even vapes like a pipe smokes.
It's so realistic that when I'm using mine, I find I vape it like I used to smoke a pipe: No inhalation, just let the vapour mull around in your mouth and enjoy the flavour. It's not particularly cheap, but if you enjoy (or want to enjoy) pipe smoking, I can highly recommend it.

I'll happily continue to post my findings as I use it more

I use my TECC Pipe daily and it's better now then it was. Mine seemed to lack power when it was new and the LED light stayed on for several seconds after i took a drag. Now this has corrected itself and the light goes off the moment i stop vaping it. Since this happened the vapor + flavor have increased quite a lot and i now I get even better vapor and flavor from it. I think it must have had something blocking the airway but all OK now.

Throat hit doesn't seem to matter when smoking a pipe, it's all down to relaxing and absorbing the flavors in he mouth, all very nice and rewarding. I have fitted the 510 XL Clearomizer in mine, using a cone and the rubber end off a mega cartomizer and can vape this for ages before topping up again. At first i was thinking that these TECC Pipes were going to be like the DSE601 Pipe but they are quite a lot different and much better.

I smoked a proper pipe for over 30 years and must admit, i still fire it up at times mainly because i can clench my real pipe between my teeth when i need my hands free. However i am convinced my real pipe is NOT as nice to smoke as the E-Pipe, it's just more convenient to hold my lightweight Dunehill   between my teeth when working with both hands. I have got a few Automatic Ciggies i could use when I'm working but they just don't seem to hit it off for me like a pipe does. But i keep looking and maybe one-day i will find something that's work friendly when using two hands and then i can give up smoking the real pipe.

Grin Glad you liked it Aurie.. Randomness is something of a speciality of mine!  Wink

An exellent description there Phil.. I could feel that old nostalgia washing over me just reading it! Sigh.. Smiley I do own a traditional pipe and have dabbled here and there but I was never a serious pipe smoker. Of course, as you would all know, it's not just a case of throwing the baccy in it.. There's an art to packing those things just so.. but for a kid watching his old man go about it, there always seemed to be an element of theatre to the whole thing!
Well.. I guess that it is going to be more of niche product compared to your Ego C's etc but keep up the good work on the posts folks, as i for one will definately be interested!

Oh and by the way Phil.. Did you ever solve the mystery of the sqiggly dust line? I know it was a long time ago but I have a crazy memory recall for the strangest things?!  Undecided

Cheers. Wink

You have got a good memory Smiley
To answer your question, no we never did work out what was causing it.
The really strange thing is I was sorting out my photos this morning and saw the picture and started wondering about it again. Then you just mentioned it on here!

I'm finding the pipe stem is rather hard so I went to the tobacconist and picked up a couple the the rubber tips to go over the end. Works real well. It does seem to be a little heavier than some regular pipes. Not fond of the flavor though so when I got down to near the last of the first cart I refilled it with something I like better, so far so good.

It can be a bit awkward - basically, the top bit screws on and you have to unscrew it. I've found the best way is to grip the edges of the top brass bit with your finger nails and turn it. Once started, you should be able to take the top off fairly easily
