WOW!  Excellent work there talisman. Cool  That portable charger is cool because, since you're using a Tornado Mega USB Charger, you'll know when the battery charge is complete (that's my one big gripe about the Tornado PCC).  What kind of batteries are you using for the charger?  And please let us know when you find out how many Tornado battery charges you can get before you have to recharge the charger.  Cheers! hello there - using PG 2700mah NiMH rechargable AA. Must be NiMH as they only produce 4.8 volts. 1.2v each. nicads also produce this but can produce more if your not careful. lithium etc are no good as they will over volt as well when freshly charged.

So far i have had 3 full recharges with no issues. ive not had to charge them yet. I dont know what happens when the voltage drops off yet, but NiMH hold their voltage curve quite well.

It was just an experiment - but it worked. also good for my phone and everything else USB Tongue

That's cool talisman.  Thanks for the response. Smiley  I've already got a PCC that I don't use much (I've got about 11 Tornado/Mega Tornado batteries and a 10 port charger, so I usually don't have to bother about charging batteries when I'm out and about).  But if I didn't already have that I'd sure try something like this.  Much better me thinks.  I really don't like that you don't get any information from the PCC as to the status of the battery you're charging.  So I think this would be a much better setup.  Good job mate! Cool

Well, it has one red LED.  It lights when you're charging the PCC and goes out when the PCC charge is complete.  I think it may also light when the PCC needs charging.  But there is no indication when you've got a battery on to charge.  It's all just guess work on the state of the battery you're charging. Sad  I read a while ago that they were considering a MKII PCC for the Tornado that would have more indicators (like the Titan PCC I guess), but I haven't heard any more about it.

Nice, I was thinking of making something similar although I think I will use sugru (http://sugru.com/) as I should be able to mould it perfectly to fit all the stuff I need in my case .

No, I've not tried it myself but heard good things about it. Perhaps a little expensive but if it works as well as I hear then it should be worth the money
