Just a note about my burning atomisers...
I bought an ego c last week and I'm on to my 3rd Attie already, which is a real pain.. unfortunatley out of naivety i threw one away as it would cost more to take it back than its worth so i look online how to get rid of the burn taste i was getting so readily
I eventually tried a method which really worked.
I took of the spike from the atomiser to reveal the coil and the wick, the wick only had a little black burn on the end but the coil was all black. I dry burned the coil twice for no more than 3 seconds at a time and then blew of the residue and the coil returned to a silver colour. I then made sure that the wick when replaced was sat directly on the coil and reassembled it.. and WOW no more burn taste so far.
I forgot to mention that this was a brand new at tie which from the first couple of drags after a prime was delivering the burnt taste.
Hope this is helpful.. next step for me is to change the wick..

You can always hold the wick into a flame (hold the spike end in some pliers) as well and burn all of the gunk off the wick. You will notice that the wick turns a grey/white. The wick wont burn, its just burns the gunk away, leaving you with a nice clean wick too

Thanks for the replies..
That same attire that I have just sorted has now started to burn again and it's starting to become a bit of a joke as this is my third attie in a week

Well you could always try and push the wick down a little in the spike. Take an opened paper clip, or needle or something similar and just edge the wick down by a millimetre or two.
I actually have this same problem right now, but I'm starting to wonder if its the tank, the tank im using at the minute is a brand new one, it was very hard to pierce the hole, and its a very very tight fit. Now if I take the tank out of the cone, the air gets in and the burnt taste is gone. So I'm wondering if some of the tanks are a tiny bit oversized and now allowing the air to get in.
If you have a different tank, I would suggest that you try changing it, and see how you get on.... I'm going to keep an eye on mine, and see if I can find a solution.

A quick thing you could try, when you get a burnt taste, take a couple of cold draws on the tank (draw on the tank, but dont press the battery button) In theory this should draw the liquid down, but it doesnt fire the coil) I know this isnt a cure, but it will help until I can try and figure this out

OK just a quick update and maybe a work around for some people using the ego-c that are getting a frequent burnt taste.
My tank im using at the minute, is a new one, very tight fitting into the cone, and it was also hard to pierce the cap. I have been noticing a burnt taste every 3 or 4 draws/drags on the tank, but I have noticed if I pull the tank out and pop it back in its fine.
I have pulled the tank out slightly, if I run my nail along the atty cone, where it joins with the tank I have a 1 to 2 mm gap, I haven't pressed the tank all the way down till it clicks, and I have stopped getting the burnt taste.
Now I'm not guaranteeing that you wont get leaks this way, and I haven't tested it for long enough to find out, but the burnt taste every 3 or 4 draws is gone!
I really think that sometimes it just a simple fact of the tank fitting way too tight into the atty cone, so try another tank if you have a spare, if not try lifting the tank out by a millimetre or two, and let me know how it works out.

If your using soft caps make sure they are on the tank all the way. If they have a gap it can seal against the spike base too tight and cause an issue. It's also the same the other way around. Make sure the cap isn't pushed on too much!

Many thanks. I've been having the burned taste problem. Will try the various techniques mentioned. Do you find some flavours are more likely to lead to the burned taste?

I only use the one flavour in my tank, and thats Titan menthol My trick of leaving the tank up slightly worked a treat, but I did get a leak with it this morning, so switched it out for another new tank. This one fits much better, and no burnt taste

I am new to this still. I have found that my favourite flavour at the moment is chocolate and mint (both Gold). When first mixed it is quite clear but after a couple of days it goes a lovely chocolate colour. However, it does seem to produce a burned flavour more easily than other mixes I have used. I am blowing through the atty and that seems to work.

It may be that one of those flavours are 'sticky'? I can't really say as I haven't used them. One of them could always mix a little thicker too. Thicker juice will find it harder to wick than thinner juice. Try a couple of cold draws every now and again too, this may help. And carry on with the blowing through the atty too
