I have bought 4 of them (UK) , two black and two platinum. The black ones both started tasting of charcoal after the first 2 days, the others have lasted 2 weeks.. it makes me feel sick and I am fed up with it happening. It is hugely inconvenient.. I bought 4 to avoid this happening. I am using all Totally Wicked liquids, mainly watermelon and its ridiculous that they can all be faulty!! I havenīt begun to argue this with the Totally Wicked team, but I will be extremely upset if I donīt get offered replacements or some kind of repayment for what are quite frankly, faulty goods!!

I have tried cleaning them all etc. Nothing has worked. Any help anyone?

Hi Bzy, welcome to the forum Cheesy

It's difficult to determine what the problem could be with the description you have given, often a burnt taste is synonymous with not enough eliquid reaching the atomizing coil, and this can be for a couple  of reasons, incorrectly filled or incorrectly fitted tank cartridges.

It would be best to phone Customers Services on:

0845 602 9661

01254 692244

They will be able to discuss the problem with you.

Hi Bzy
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to see you are having problems.
Are you leaving an air gap in the Tanks?
Are you making sure they are pushed all the way into the atomiser?
Are you letting the Tanks run dry?
I ask because they are common reasons of the burnt taste occurring.

Broken in what way. The atomizer will need replaced on the unit and.on the tornado thats the whole cone on top. That's why most people decided to buy an ego c for convenience of cheaper replacement attomizers

Why did you buy 4 tornados rather than the ego c with a few spare attys as it would have worked out cheaper.

I bought two for myself (they were on the yoyo) and two for a friend. His didn't work from the word go, and mine worked for about 3 weeks before also breaking.

I live in student halls and I know 10+ people who own this same device and haven't had issues, they don't know what it is either. We all use Totally Wicked liquids, so I am unsure as to what the issue is.

I phone customer services this morning, they have agreed to send me a replacement atomizer as they say it cannot be the batteries, although I am convinced the batteries are what is killing the atomizers. I am sending all my batteries and atomizers back and going to borrow a battery of another friend. Hopefully this story will come to a good ending because I have spent in excess of Ģ100 already and I hope they help don't make me pay again!!

I can understand the notion of the burning taste, that is likely to be little or no eliquid reaching the atomizing coil. But when you say the others have "broke" after 3 weeks what exactly do you mean, are they physically broken? Have they just stopped working? Are they not working efficiently?

It sounds very much like you may not be priming your atomisers correctly.

HOW TO PRIME A TANK ATOMISER

1. Insert a full cartridge into your atomiser and attach the battery. DO NOT PRESS THE BATTERY BUTTON. Draw on the mouthpiece as you would normally, taking two sharp intakes.
2. DO NOT PRESS THE BATTERY BUTTON.  Put the cartridge in your mouth and blow gently and evenly once.
3. The atomiser is now primed, vape as normal.

If you experiencing a burnt taste or limited or no vapour, the atomiser is either dry, or e-liquid is not getting onto the wick, follow the procedure below:

1.  Make sure your cartridge contains e-liquid.
2.  Make sure the cartridge has been pushed into the atomiser fully so that it sits flush with the atomiser.
3.  Insert a full cartridge into your atomiser and attach a charged battery.
4.  DO NOT PRESS THE BATTERY BUTTON. Draw on the cartridge as you would normally, taking two sharp intakes.
5.  DO NOT PRESS THE BATTERY BUTTON. Put the cartridge in your mouth and blow gently and evenly once.
6.  Atomiser is now primed, vape as normal.

If the burnt taste persists, it maybe you have burnt the wick due to power being applied to a dry atomiser coil and wick. This often fades with usage, however, if the burnt taste persists, your atomiser may be damaged beyond recovery and requires replacement.

Agreed the tornados have to be kept wet priming must be done plus the hole In the tank must be fully pierced so when you take a draw with pressing the power button you see bubbles in the tank

Its a common mistake not to have it fully primed.  I remember panicking when I first got my eGo-C and I had a funny taste.  5 mins on the forums and I got rid of it and was vaping away happily.  Now the eGo-C is my vave atty Tongue.

I just received a replacement, and it worked fine to begin with. Now I am experiencing the burnt taste again. I have 'primed' the atomiser upon the re-fill and when I first got it. Not sure what I am doing wrong?!

Have you considered just buying the DCT and trying that . They pretty much work out the box just fill and go and the way it works means you have very little chance of any burnt taste at all

They all work on the tornado batteries as well so you don't need a new kit or that just the dct and a plinth if you want it to look nicer on the battery
