Hi folks,

After reading the comments on the forum; I've taken the plunge and ordered the Tornado Booster.

The prospect of a stable battery voltage and the ability to 'krank it up a notch' was just too tempting to pass up. I hope it lives up to my inflated expectations. I'll let you know how I get on. Wink

Cheers,

Ed.

Thanks Knoton.

I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! It'll probably be Mon/Tue before it arrives. I can't wait to start using it.
I am currently using the CE3 Smokymisers. Most of the videos I've seen have people using the booster with a tank atty, but I expect that that there won't be any problems using it with the smokymisers.

Roll on delivery day!  Wink

LOL, KCS (Kid at Christmas Syndrome).  We all have it when waiting on VapeMail from TW.

You won't have any problems using your smokys on the booster.  In fact, I recommend it.  Some people are having problems with the smokys shorting out and killing their Tornado batteries.  The booster has a shorted atty protection circuit, so it won't hurt the booster or your battery if the smoky shorts while on the booster.  Oh, and if you like the flavor and vapor you're getting from the smokys now, just wait till you try them on the booster. Shocked

any recommendations for a voltage setting on the smokys?  I know it will vary with the juice but my experience says 3.9 before the vapor gets too thin.  may be my juice though. I've tried different flavors with straight VG and the result is the same.

Well, for me John, it varies depending on the juice and the specific Smoky.  I find most of them seem to preform at their best around 3.6-3.8v, but I've got one (my oldest) that's working best at 4.0-4.1 now.  I agree with you, on a new one, anything over 3.8-4v kills the flavor at the least, and can rapidly out-vape the wicking and start tasting burnt.

Definitely will vary by juice.  My sweet spot for them is usually in the range of 4.0-4.3  Wink

Hi Folks,

Well the booster has arrived. What can I say. Incredible vape!  Cheesy

Firstly I tried it with a tank atty. 3.3 too low. 4V seem to be the sweet spot. Any higher and the vape is too rough.

Secondly tried it with a smokermiser. Again 3.3 too low. 4V is the sweet spot. 4.7V actually destroyed the smokeymiser. Doh! But at 4V (the midpoint on the dial), the vape, throathit and nicotene hit are greatly amplified.  Cool

I've been using it with a mega battery. Can't say I've seen any major issues with battery drain. There does seem to be a reduction in performance as the battery gets nearly drained, but I guess that is to be expected. You do get good performance for the majority of the battery's charge.

I have been using it in and out of the house. I'm not sure what people must think of me vaping on this large strange device.  Tongue However I seem to have no shame in this regard.

All in all, I'd have to say I love it. Now that I've started using it at the 4V sweet spot, I wouldn't wanna vape unboosted. Therefore I would wholeheartidly recomend the booster!

Cheers,

Ed.

Hi Ed.  Glad you're liking your Booster (I knew you would).  I think you've hit on the main problem with these....... once you try VV vaping you don't want to go back. Grin

Oh dear, I thought I would be able to hold off ordering some more shiny things, but
this is seriously tempting.

What we really need to be able to do is input what we are spending on toys into the
calculation that the vaping banner makes. It would be interesting to see when break-even
point is achieved.

Or maybe not.....

Uhmm.. it is easier to spend more now I guess, but I do know I'm still very much "quids in" with my spend, but the benefit for me is so much more than monetary Cheesy

Yeah Astrecks, I would very much agree with the above. Although I do seem to be spending way too much on shiny things.  Huh

It used to be that my biggest spend was e-liquid, but as the price of that has went down; it has been counterbalanced by my spend on mega batterys, attys, smokeymisers and now the booster.  Tongue

Don't get  me wrong. I'm not complaining. It's just an observation.

Happy vaping everyone!  Wink

I want to try one of these boosters, but they seem to stay sold out, in the USA at least. Eventually, when the planets line up correctly and product availability syncs with cash flow ...

There's a monetary benefit?!?   Undecided   I think my vaping tally is a little over twice my savings  Tongue

But I don't regret taking up this hobby one bit, even though I need anti-shiny-stuff blinders  Wink
