Funny VVV video

I was listening to the radio last night, having a few drinks and noticed that my VVV would cause my radio to drop out.  I'm guessing it's a form of EMI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_interference) or something.

Found it odd too, that it only happened when I took a drag off of it.  I assume because it really isn't under a whole lot of load until air is passed through, but that doesn't make sense.

I don't know, just watch the vid if you want.

Tip:  you need sound to be able to hear it happen (duh.).

 it might have something to do with the freezer/fridge next to the tv or maybe just the tv who knows i think this would p---- me off i love to vape while watching tv this doesn't happen with mine though  (touch wood)

p.s maybe the vvv doesnt like ur taste in music try it on some r+b or something

Possible theory... The battery should earth the whole system so when you press the button to charge the atomiser it should in theory use you as a conductor for a very very faint charge. This in turn would make you block the frequency slightly.

Just out of interest.. have you got a plastic drip tip to try? if so... it shouldn't happen then.. or maybe it will ha ha

OP, You aren't the only one.  

I tried to use the VVV next to my Ham Radio equipment during a severe weather alert and it kept knocking out the weather radios..  It's not the Torpedo VVV however it has to do with the atomizer coils radiating at or close to the 2m long wavelength  .. 90MHz - 160Mhz ..  or perhaps near the intermediate frequency used by the superheterodyne receiver in the mixing phase.

I reported this to TW about two months ago but I never heard anything back from their tech staff.

Glad to see someone else experienced it.  And no, I don't think it's my taste in music!

I also noticed that it did it in the car as well, with a 101.1 FM station.  It's also not doing it anymore at home,so I don't know.

I just really thought it was weird that it only happened when I actually took a drag; it wasn't just the device being active that caused the interference.

Canniscam, I think you're on to something about the wavelength, that's the only thing that makes sense to me.  I'm no ham radio operator, but I'm a decent tech.

Don't understand how or what makes the frequency in the PV, but whatever.

Anyway, it's all good for a laugh, and by the way, the rest of my house doesn't look like this!  It's the one room in the house where I have no idea what do to with it.  Originally, it was supposed to be a bar / pool table / etc entertainment room, but that stuff costs money and it hasn't happened yet.  So...  it's just a junk room where I sit and relax from time to time and listen to the radio or mix a drink and have a vape!
