Ok guys just got this thing 3-4 days ago and tonight after putting in a brand new battery my DCT didn't work every time I took a draw, maybe 2 out of 5 draws I actually got some vapor. So I switched DCT's, same issue, tried a mega tornado atty, no go. My question is this what the eff am I doing wrong? Could it be the adapter for the  ego to torpedo  is broken after 4 days? And how come I can screw on the DCT without the adapter and sometimes it works, but always works with the adapter? Until this issue. Help please, I have a 16 hour car ride day after tomorrow.
Thanks

I know this might sound silly but have you checked what voltage your Torpedo is set to? The only reason I ask is that when you change the battery if you take more than about 30s doing it, the voltage resets back down to 3v, which really isn't enough to get your coils nice and warm on your DCT?

I've tried turning it all the way down and going up at .1 increments, nothing is working Cry

I don't really know why you are using an Torpedo to Ego adapter for a DCT, I don't use it. But have you tried cleaning all the connections on the Torpedo and the adapter and the atomiser with a tissue and/or a cotton bud, mucky connections can do funny things?

I have tried numerous times to not use the adapter as the DCT fits perfectly, but then the DCT doesn't work, or hardly works. I've tried cleaning the connections as well. Should I quit using the adapter, and see if I can get it to work somehow? I am at a loss at what to do...

It sounds like there might be a problem on the Torpedo connector itself, I wonder if the center post has been pushed down, or just isn't high enough. You can prise this up just a little bit, but as your Torpedo is so new I wouldn't recommend it, it might be time to call customer services. Do you have another PV to use in the mean time?

I can't get any of my DCT's to work without that adapter at all. Do you think my product is defective, that the battery post connector is messed up somehow? ooh and I am using an who to torpedo adapter.

Take a paper clip or very small screwdriver and pry up the center post of the DCT and see if that helps the problem.  I have found that when something does not work on my torpedo this usually fixes the problem

Yes thankfully I have my tornado system still. Does TW make you send back the product before they send you a new one? I sure hope so, while it's not working correctly when it does is my favorite PV.

I would be terrified of breaking it. You just take something, put it under the post and lift up gently? How do you ensure it stays level when doing this?

You will not break anything.  Just put the paper clip into the little hole on the battery end of the DCT and going around in a circle GENTLY pry up the center post.  You will see the post moving.  Don't have to worry about keeping it level or anything.  Just again be gentle and you will be fine.  If the problem is the connector this will fix the problem.

Also when you screw on the DCT don't screw it down hard.  Again just screw it down until a good connection is made

I appreciate this, but thinking about it the problem has to lie with the Torpedo connection as I tried 3 separate DCT's as well as a mega tornado atty... And since I can't use the DCT's at all without the ego to torpedo adapter it would seem it's the post in the torpedo? I am so new to this, thank you for all your help everyone.

To each their own I guess.  But it does not matter if it's the post on the battery or the post on the DCT.  So it does not matter which one you pry up.  I merely said to pry the post on the atty because it is much easier than trying to pry up the center post on the battery.

Bear with me please. So if I were to pry up the post on the DCT, that would only fix the problem with one DCT right? It couldn't fix the problems with the other DCT's not working or the tornado atty right? I am confused lol....sorry

Firewing, I suspect at some point you have over tightened either a DCT and/or the adpator and it has moved the center post just a smidge. Horseman has suggested that you address the problem by adjusting the DCT's and you can actually do the same on your adapter; you will have to do it on each one, but its a hell of a lot better to do this than play with center post on the Torpedo, but it will require you making this adjustment everytime you have a carto with this problem, its actually not a big deal, I've got a couple of Tornado batteries with "iffy" centre posts and a quick tweak of the carto has them working fine.

You can of course send it back to TW but you might find that the centre post is still within tolerance and it will be sent back with a note saying "no fault found" so it's up to you really?

I got it to work! Yay! I called TWCS, and when they said I'd have to send the device back without them replacing it first I decided to tinker with the posts on the DCT's. Now I can use the DCT's without a adapter and I am getting all kinds of vapor. I am just going to have to put another blunt tip from my refill kit in my everyday kit as it worked prefect to pull it up and out just a bit. I really can't thank you enough Tara and Horsemen enough. I am now 100% satisfied again with this beast called the Torpedo VVV Grin
Thanks again, I would have lost without you all
