SMARTSMOKER SENDING UN-Solicited Mail. USING A TW STOlen Database

Please see this message sent to me from Victoria, i have had spam mail from them to, so have many other customers. They are getting your info from SIGMA web who it looks like stole the TW data bases Last year. We have had un limited message from dis-trought TW customers who have received the same.

If you are getting these from SMARTSMOKER, please contact them as its data Theft, VERY serious as it really does break all good creeds of conduct.

I suggest you contact the DATA Protection Agency. If you need help or are receiving these let Louise know. She will be collating a file.

I received an email offering Platinum Ice this morning from this company:

Don't now who they are but thought as you own the Platinum ice label that you'd want to know.

This IMO should not be ignored. Its a Breech of integrity....And who else are your details being given/Sold to???

I know its VIA SIGMA WEB, as they had a previous relationship with SS...In fact Smartsmoker recommended them. When we parted ways they went back to work for Smartsmoker.

Plus i know they downloaded the user base....They said to help with Email marketing for TW.. So its both Sigma WEB and Smartsmoker who have your details.

Do you know if it was both the U.K. and U.S. databases that were compromised.  If so the US Department of Justice has a cyber crimes division and this is right in their wheelhouse.

I will hold off on mailing Louise just yet as I haven't received any emails from SS so I don't overwhelm her with useless data.

If I do receive some spam I will be right back on the wagon with the rest of you!

Sorry for the delayed reply. I am not certain if the USA database was taken as well. So far we have had no mention from USA based users that they have been receiving malignant mail from an un-ethical company.

But thank you for the heads up, i am now aware but was not.. So appreciate the feedback..
