The Yo-Yo promotion discount puts me off wanting to order, but I signed up to order just because TECC don't have any discount codes at the moment.

It's really annoying to buy something and then see straight after your order, that it's gone cheaper... I was almost tempted to cancel and re-order!

It's also off-putting to want to buy something but see that 10 minutes ago it was 35% off, but now it's only 15%... it puts me off buying it. - whereas if it was just a flat 15% off, I wouldn't hesitate (a flat 35% discount would be better of course!)

Do you not want to attract customers that just log on and buy? - you want people to be sat on your site for hours watching the discount?

I hope you never run this kind of discount again.

It's a fun thought but it doesn't really work.
I wanted to buy some more ejuice but the Yo-Yo clock was ticking.
Oh well.  Maybe next time.

I don't like the yoyo either, because of this blasted promotion I have spent far too much money and bought far too much juice that I could have bought more expensive somewhere else.  Wink

I don't want fun when I want to buy a product, I just want to buy it at the best price.... not be teased by seeing that 10 minutes ago I would have saved £20, when now the saving now is only £5. - To buy it like that makes me feel ripped off, and I don't have the time to sit and watch for it to drop again... so my feeling is that I just don't buy it - cause I don't like to be ripped off.

I'm tight with my money, and I'm busy working most of the time. - give me a flat 30% discount and I'll probably spend £200 on supplies... tease me that if I visited the site 10 minutes earlier it would have been a 35% discount, and I'd feel ripped off and not spend a penny.

The yoyo finishes in a couple of days, then you can order them for full price.  Smiley

So just dive in, buy what you want at whatever price it may be and that's it, your done and have saved a bit of money. The only way you would then feel 'ripped off' would be if you used some of your valuable time to look at what was /had been happening to the prices of the items you wanted.
No time wasted, no feelings of 'oh dear, if only', no anxiety about what might have been, and you will still have saved money.
Or you could have made a small purchase from TECC, got their Christmas Card in the delivery and used the Card Code for a flat 25% off everything, no fun, no hassle, flat discount. Looks like TW and TECC really do have something for everyone  Grin
On a serious note, welcome to the forum, hope your disgruntlement doesn't last long.
Happy vaping.

I love the yoyo.

If all you wanted to do was come on and place your order, then everything that is on the yoyo is at a discount so you will be saving money on the RRP.

Im with the OP, I cant really say I find it "fun", especially in December when its easy enough to get sick to the back teeth of shopping anyway! Smiley It is pretty tedious watching the yoyo to try and secure the best price but it has enabled me to save (aka spend) a fortune. There's no way I would have got my SD kit for the price that I did if TW just had a flat discount on everything as they certainly wouldn't have knocked 54% off everything.

I pretty much spend every waking hour in front of a PC and have 3 monitors on my desk at home and in the office so its a little less painful for me as I can just have windows open on my 2 side monitors to catch the best prices. Doesn't always work though, just when you think its safe to go make a coffee that bloody price drops the second you turn your back, sometimes I wonder if TW are watching me Cheesy

What I find more frustrating than sitting and waiting for a price is that the yoyo is quite buggy. From things that you add to your basket that then lose their discount, to prices that never seem to really exist. There was something on Sunday night that had an original price of £9.99 but went UP to £29.99 for a short period of time!?!?!?! Also on Sunday night I bought some cartos at 37% off, my buddy sitting next to me on his laptop could not see that price, neither real time or in the little graph thingy???

There are some things I wanted that have never gone low enough for my liking but I'll either get them from TECC in the next few days @ 25% off or from TW in January @ 20% off. On the subject of feeling ripped off though a discount is a discount, it's all stuff I would have had to buy next year at full price and lets be honest... whenever you buy anything it gets cheaper a week later  Roll Eyes Unless you're an antiques collector maybe Smiley

That said, if TW cut their prices next year I might feel a bit ripped off Smiley

Gotta put my 2 cents in -- I love the yo-yo.   I am a bargain hunter and found some real bargains on there.   I really did sit on my PC that long to get my bargains.   Got most of my juices anywhere between 45% and 60% off.

SPOILER ALERT!!!
This post contains heavy sarcasm.  If you don't know the definition of that word, please Google it.  If you still don't understand the definition after that, please don't read this post...... you won't like it.   Sensayuma required from this point on.  You have been warned!!!

I think Stevie really nailed it here (as always mate!).   Uh-oh... better not read the rest of this post Stevie.... I'm going to....  *gasp*.... agree with you! Shocked  (be afraid mate, be very afraid,  Huh lol. Roll Eyes).  An-ye-way.  You don't like the yo-yo, then don't bother with it.  Just jump in, throw what you want in the basket, checkout, and be done with it and be gone with your bad self.  And whatever and whenever you buy, you'll be saving money  (BOY!  Now that I think about it, that does suck doesn't it! Roll Eyes).  In past yo-yos I'll admit I lost a lot of time (hours... um, days maybe?) waiting for "just the right price" before I checked out (and having a spot of fun in the bargain).  With the new automated system, I got the major items I was looking to buy at 40-59% off, and a few bits and bobs that I threw in the cart at the last minute at 15-48% off.  And I didn't spend that much time doing it.  Yes, it's a bit buggy, and I hope they work on that before the next one.... but even with that, I had some fun and saved huge!  Sorry, but I think if you don't like the yo-yo, and you don't even want to just jump in and buy without paying any attention to the savings (and still bag some nice discounts) then I think you should plan ahead when you know one's comming... buy enough kit at full price to hold you over during the yo-yo, and when it's over you can restock at full price again..... and whatever you do, don't check face book or twitter for the daily discount codes there, because you'll hate that too (and this comment was NOT directed at anyone in particular.... but even so, I look forward to your nasty replies). Tongue

I've read posts where people said they would prefer a flat discount (and if you ordered in December, you received a card with discount code, and you now have all of January to use it to get a flat discount).  Not me, I'd never have bought half the stuff I did at 20% or 25%.... things like attys or nic base, or flavors that I didn't really need (and thus would not have bought at a lesser discount).  I've also read posts from people saying that Jason should just lower prices across the board (which he has done a bit of) instead of running the yo-yo sales.  Well, again, I'd not have bought as much, and not have saved as much.  I see the yo-yo sales as a means for Jason to get rid of some of the slower moving stock, or clear out and make room for new merchandise that he knows is on the way.... and a chance for us to save big and stock up on the items we know we're eventually going to need/use.... and maybe to save enough to entice us to try something we might not have otherwise done (that's how I got my Wicked Stick) or get some gifts at a tremendous discount for our loved ones during the Holidays.  Ok, I'm going to step down from this soap-box now and go stand if front of the wall.  I'll take a pass on that "last cigarette" thing, but I wouldn't mind a final vape (PR Rootbeer if you don't mind).  Now...... READY...... AIM........FI

Nice post there 8Ball, and agree with you too! I really enjoyed the yoyo and got some juices and stuff and 60% off! There was some stuff I'd have liked but the discount wasn't quite enough to persuade me, but no big deal, I just grabbed the items that did!

I have respect for TW for doing these yoyo's, the time, effort and cost. No other company I can think of does events like these. It's innovative and fun. Some nights I was up tll 3am (how sad am I lol) waiting to get the right price!

I hope they do another soon as I enjoyed the last couple, and they did encourage me spend more than I normally would, but I can't complain at 50 - 60% off, and from a business point of view if something only had max of 30% off, then there was a reason why it could only be reduced by that amount and therefore still a bargain.

All respect to TW for the yoyo!  Cheesy

As to your comment on the only 30% off and reasons why -- I'm not sure why because they had the kits on yo-yo in November for up to about 50% off, where I grabbed another Tornado.   However, in the December yo-yo, I only saw them go down to around 30% and then a lot of times there were not in stock.

Anyhow, any discounts they give is great and I am not in way complaining.   Just glad I got my 2nd Tornado in November!

Love the yo-yos and really hope TW continues them, despite some people who don't like them.  Like other of you who have posted your comments to those who don't like the yo-yo, they can just order when the Twitter discount or if they got the card for the 20% discount during the month of January.

I was thinking along the lines of if they sold everything at 50 - 60% every time they wouldn't make a lot of profit or if it was stock they wanted to shift or had a high margin then it would have a higher max discount. Maybe the margins weren't good enough to offer an item at max discount both times or they weren't holding enough stock to offer such high max's on certain products this time around? I dunno lol

Either way I thought it was great thing to do  Smiley

Yeah UB.  My guess would be the discount range offered was some combination of the profit margin in the first place, age of stock, how much stock (overstock), how popular the item is, and what they wanted to move out.  Of course, I'm just guessing here.... no idea really. Undecided  I did notice that they were doing a fair job of rotating things into and out of the deeper discounts.  And gamboling on how long stock is going to be there before they run out, as well as how low you think the price is going to be before that happens is all part of the game (dare I say fun?).  Like you, I bought some things in the November yo-yo because I didn't want to gamble that there'd be any stock left by the time the December yo-yo rolled around. When I signed up and ordered my first items I had a promo code, and of discount code. Now, am I to understand I have to hang out on the internet to get a yo yo bargain. So, it maybe fun for some who have nothing better to do that hang out. I do not have the time to get the bargain. Ordering still ask for promo, but I can never find a code. Cry

No need to hang out anywhere... Undecided  unless, like me, you ate too much over the holidays and now your shirt is too small for your belly. Shocked

Just follow Mr. Wicked on twitter.  You'll get the Twitter codes every day that way (if there are any (discount codes are suspended when there are other promotions going on)).

Or visit the Facebook page to get that one.

Or check out the forum thread for that one.

Or if that's too much internetting for you Wink  just look on the TW store site... Mr. Ws tweets appear on the right side, about the middle of the screen.  So you can (almost) always grab the Twitter code there, and not bother to check the forum or Facebook for those codes, and still save some coinage.  Couldn't be too much easier and quicker than that. Smiley

Oh, and like I previously stated in my previous post Undecided ... when there is a yo-yo going on, just find what you want, throw it in your cart, and check out.  You're bound to save something.  No need to hang out and try to get the best discounts.  All of us just do it because we're cheap old gits with nothing better to do, who like to have a spot of fun once in a while, and happen to find the yo-yo fun (and economical too!). Smiley

Now, if you'll excuse me, since I have nothing better to do.... I think I'll just hang out on the forum for..... the rest of my life. Wink

I also HATE the yo-yo and the message it sends to us, the customer. I would much prefer a steady, fair price, instead of inflated prices all the time, with an occasional dice game as to whether or not you will over pay.

case in point, I found a supplier for BL liquid (my favorite, which TW discontinued) selling all day every day for less than $4 per 10ml. Thats still cheaper than I ever got it on a yo-yo, and I don't have to worry about it, just click, pay, and it shows up here 3 days later (faster than tw too), they just don't have this awesome forum, but offer the exact same products for 1/3 of the price..
